(Post 8) Photography practice

Photography practice I was given the task to practice my photography skills and shoot 9 photographs using various techniques, which included 3 main parts. These 3 main parts were the angle, distance and composition, I then had to shoot these different types of shots and explain why I have shot each shot. High angle A high angle is a camera angle that looks down upon a subject and is used to make the subject look vulnerable or small. In this case, I have used this angle to make the subject look vulnerable and powerless. Low angle A low angle is a camera angle that looks down upon a subject and is used to make the subject look vulnerable or small. (Post 7) Market research/survey

Market research/survey I made a market research/survey, using google forms, based on questions related to the healthy eating/healthy food magazine I am planning on creating. I chose 10 specific questions, which would help me understand my target audience better and help me understand what they want to see in my magazine. From these helpful responses, I can see that there are certain things I need to add in my magazine and thing I need to do to my magazine. Firstly, I will sell my magazine for a price in between 15 QR and 25 QR, this is because 40% of people chose 15 QR and another 40% chose 25QR. Which means those 2 prices were the most popular and as they are both similar in price, it is  noticeable that most people want to buy the magazine for a lower price range.  Secondly, I will only include Italian healthy cuisine style dishes, this is because 50% of people chose Italian cuisine and that was the highest percentage of votes out of the other cuisines. (Post 6) Mood board

Mood board I am planning on creating a magazine all about healthy food, which is not only delicious to eat, but also healthy food aesthetically pleasing to the eye, easy to make, for everyone and their families to eat and much more. These images and texts that I have chosen for my mood board are all related to the things which I have just listed above. I purposely have chosen bright colours in my mood board, as bright colours like green, blue and orange relate to health and these bright colours will help attract more people to the magazine and will persuade more people to eat healthy food.

(Post 5) Double page spread magazine analysis

Double page spread magazine analysis   I have analysed 2 double page spreads, which are different from each other. I purposely chose different contents pages, so it is more interesting and not repetitive. My first double page spread analysis is on famous pop artist, Justin B ieber . There is a heading at the top of the magazine, which is also a quote from an exclusive interview in which Justin Bieber said “Girls me a headache” Even though this is a quote, it is also used as a heading, as the quote is in a large font and is at the top of the page. The main image is of Justin Bieber, which takes up the whole of the right page. In this image he is directly looking at the camera, so he is directly looking at the reader and making eye contact with the reader. This makes it feel more personal for the reader, as it feels he is directly looking at you and you are looking back at him. There is only 1 smaller image on the left page. (Post 4) Contents page magazine analysis

  Contents page magazine analysis I have analysed 2 contents pages, which are very different from each other. I purposely chose very different contents pages, so it is more interesting and not repetitive. My first contents page analysis is on a pop magazine called top of the pops.  There is a heading at the top of the magazine called ‘inside the mag…’ This is at the top and is in white writing under a pink background, so it can stand out and it is the first thing the reader can see & understand. ‘Inside the mag’ is a more simplified way of saying the ‘contents page’ they have purposely written it like that, as the readers are aged around 10-15 years.  The page numbers are under different sub-headings, for example pages 7,12 and 13 are under the sub-heading ‘Celebs & gossip.’ But to make it easier for the reader, there is an image of the front cover on the top left, that has been labelled with page numbers for the main stories.  There aren't any social media o...

(Post 2) Front cover magazine analysis

  Front cover magazine analysis I have analysed 2 magazine front cover pages, which are very different from each other. They both have different genres, target audiences, colours and other important features which help you distinguish the many different magazine front covers. My first magazine front cover analysis is on famous former footballer, David Beckham, who is modelling for Men's Health magazine, which is a magazine for men about nutrition, fitness, health, sex and other things related to health.  My second magazine front cover analysis is on famous American pop singer, Katy Perry,  who is modelling for Billboard magazine, which is a magazine for music fans for all different genres of music.
